Hello fellow Forbsians!
My name is Anthie, I am currently a second-year PhD student in Princeton’s English Department, and I am extremely happy to join all of you as an RGS this coming year!
A few things about me: I was born in Athens, Greece, but I was raised on Kos Island in the Dodecanese. I moved back to Athens only after finishing high school to study at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from which I hold a BA in English Language and Literature and an MA in Comparative Literary Studies with an emphasis on the comparative study of classical Greek and Anglophone literature(s). Here, at Princeton, I am doing most of my research at the intersection between theory, literature, and culture, and the fields that are of particular interest to me are contemporary literature and culture, literary and cultural theory, postcolonialism and migration studies, as well as media, photography, and art studies.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time outdoors, walking, running, cycling, trekking and swimming. However, I equally enjoy watching movies (anything from Marvel’s Cinematic Studio to drama films, with the sole exception of thrillers which I can’t watch without feeling terrified for weeks to come!), cooking, knitting, playing video games, and socializing.
I really look forward to meeting all of you in person this Fall, and I can’t wait to find out more about your own interests, academic or not!
