Bio/Description

Hi Forbes!

I’m a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Geosciences and a central NJ native. After being a part of Princeton for years, I’m looking forward to getting to know it in a new way as an RGS!

I did my undergraduate degree at Drew University in Madison, NJ (that’s right, I’m a Jersey girl through and through) where I majored in chemistry and was heavily involved in service activities. After an incredible internship at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. and a semester taking geology courses at CU Boulder, I was set on thinking about rocks and fossils. (Before you ask, yes, I have an extensive rock collection!) At Princeton, my research focuses on reconstructing ecosystems from millions of years ago. If we can understand how ecosystems have responded to climate shifts in the past, we are able to better predict what the future will hold. Most of my work has been on dinosaur ecosystems, though I also enjoy thinking about ancient and modern plants.

When I’m not in the lab or finding fossils, I’m probably cooking, spending time outside, or doing something crafty. You can find me playing softball in the summer and kickball in the fall with the Geosciences team, the Coprolites.

I’m looking forward to learning about you and your interests this year!
