Sophie Lewis

I am a second-year graduate student in music history. I was born in Chicago and grew up in Ohio. I studied music and English at Barnard College in New York City.

I love singing and am interested in all kinds of music, from medieval madrigals to Top 40s. My research centers around recording technology and its broader influence on twentieth-century global history.

On campus, I sing with the Glee Club and help organize events with the Student Friends of the Princeton University Library. I also attend many of the amazing concerts and performances on campus, including across the street at the Lewis Arts Center. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you this year! Let’s go to a concert, explore Princeton’s hiking trails, or try the latest flavors at Bent Spoon.
