Yassine Ait Ali

Bio/Description

Bonjour Forbes people!

I'm Yassine (people call me Yass), a graduate student in the Department of French & Italian working on the humanities, with a focus on comparative literature, languages, and cinema. I was born and bred in the region of Paris (France) to Moroccan parents and completed my pre-doctoral education at Sorbonne Université and Oxford University. In 2023-2024, I spent some time in Boston as an exchange student at Harvard University's Department of Comparative Literature.

At Princeton, I have been involved in a large number of social and cultural events that I (co-)organized, including food parties, language tables, outings to New York, and movie screenings. In 2023, I founded the French & Francophone Society and launched the inaugural Princeton French Film Festival, which I will continue curating during my time at Princeton.

When I'm not studying or watching movies, you can find me cooking, planning exciting trips, playing soccer and other sports, wandering in Princeton and elsewhere, and gathering people together for social and cultural events. I'm always delighted to meet with new people for a coffee on campus and you should feel free to contact me with any questions!
